Club News:
Lion Gene Herber reported that 12 Lions helped out with Adopt-A-Highway in April, so thanks go out to those Lions and also those who weren't there but settled up with the Tail Twister! Lion Lance passed around a sign-up sheet and we are still in need of volunteers for the Memorial Day Rest Stop. Friday appears to be covered, but there are open slots on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Please contact Lion Lance if you have not done so already, and please be reminded that we also need cookies and/or $5 to cover cookie expenses.
Lion Don Roe update:
Please visit Lion Don Roe at Elcor. Lion Bill Powell reported at our second meeting in April that Lion Don is still in Room 50 in the Maple Creek wing, and he is still in about the same condition. He has entered hospice there and he welcomes all who wish to reminisce and say goodbye.
Board Action:
We received a thank you notes for our donations to Camp Badger and Campaign Sight First, and also a notification for the District Governor's Testimonial & Awards Banquet at the Treadway Inn, Owego, on May 16th. Lion Gary Bernhardt reported that 6 Lions worked 58 hours at Camp Badger in April, and Lion Lance Muir reported that all the paperwork was in for the Memorial Day Rest Stop. Classy Collectibles - Library Advocates requested our help for 2009 - They were most appreciative for the help our Club provided in March. Reminder from the Treasurer: When getting items from Miniers for any project, please tell Miniers who you are purchasing the items for (such as the Fall Festival or Classy Collectibles or Big Flats Times concerts) so they will not be charged to our account.
