Club News:
2007 was the busiest Lions summer that this editor can remember. In addition to the Picnic and our regular Labor Day coffee rest stop, our club prepared and sold food for two community concerts, sponsored a Blood Drive, and Lions Al Draht, Tom Rhodes, and Ed Rhodes, and one Elmira Lion completed a handicap ramp for a resident in need. Many thanks to all Lions who participated in these events.
Community Service 50-50 Drawing:
Lion Rita Dery has distributed our tickets and we should all have them by now. Please be reminded that the sales deadline is the September 24th dinner meeting. Prize drawings will begin the second dinner meeting in October and continue for ten meetings. Let’s make it a success!
Editor’s Note:
Thanks to Lions Mike and Grace Yanak for sending pictures from the Summer Picnic, and to Lion Ed Rhodes for sending pictures of the handicap ramp project. These will appear in the online edition of the Bulletin. Lion Chris Friend also sent a News Channel 36 story featuring our Lions at work at the Food Bank, but there are technical issues to overcome before this can be delivered via our website.
