Club News:  

Our annual Club Picnic will be held on August 12th at Big Flats Community Park, Cooper Pavilion. We'll be putting our best foot forward as there will be many guests and prospective members in attendance. The fun begins at 6PM! On August 17th our Club will host a Chicken BBQ for the annual Big Flats Union School Reunion, and our next Board meeting will be held on the 19th at King Lion Rita's house. We'll wrap up the Summer with a Labor Day Coffee Rest Stop at the Campbell rest area on I86. We've had high participation for these events in the past, and they've been quite enjoyable.
 
Board Action:
The Club has purchased a new 12'x12' freestanding Fly. This will be pressed into service at BBQ's Coffee Reststops. On a motion by Lion Donna Barto, $50 will be added to the Administrative Budget for President-elect to attend MD-20 Convention. On motions by Lion Al Draht, our donation to Finger Lakes Region Lions Hearing Foundation was increased from $225 to $300, and our donation to Arctic League was increased from $150 to $200. Recognition of Companions In Service - King Lion Rita explained that she would like to do subject recognition at the Annual Awards Banquet in June 2003, and the Board approved this. Lion Norval Johnston distributed copies of the 2001-2002 Annual Activities Report, which showed $4,422 and 2,861 hours donated to Community Service.

Chambers Road to Tompkins Corners, take Left (it's still Chambers Road)
Proceed about 4 Miles, then Left onto Backer Road.
Go about 1/3 mile to top of hill. King Lion's log home is on the right (may have to drive by to see it).
